It is that time of the year again when we hear cars’ tires screeching on a warm humid September night. The air will be filled with fun and people will be gearing for partying every night on the grounds of Padang. Known concert acts will grace every night at every entertainment station. People will dance, head bang and jump to the tunes. This is what we are waiting for during the upcoming F1 season here in Singapore. I love watching the race, but I also equally love watching the concerts every night and have some great fun with friends.
3days passes are still on sale, but in case you can’t get any tickets online, you can queue up at the main ticketing booth near City Hall MRT for some limited tickets to be released (better be there early. The queue can be very long and winding).
For the concerts, there is a fan zone section which is near the stage. Since last year, however, the organizers are no longer releasing fan zone wristbands, which you can claim on the day itself by queueing under the heat of the lunch time sun (12noon, if I can remember correctly). Thus, before the race ends, you better head down to the concert stage to get a better view. But personally, the atmosphere is just euphoric and you can still dance and listen to your favorite artist even if he or she is just a minuscule figure from afar.
Here are some of the headline popular acts gracing the stage:
Jennifer Lopez (USA)
Robbie Williams (UK)
John Legend (USA)
Ziggy Marley (Jamaica)
Pet Shop Boys (UK)
